I hadn't noticed before how dirty the plasticine they use for Gromit is - there are a couple of shots where he's filthy, covered in smudges and such.
I always find it fascinating to go back to earlier versions (Family Guy / South Park / Simpsons, for example) to see how the character design and voices have developed and evolved.

Yeah, that's true with a lot of things- you go back to the first episode/series and the characters are a little messier and not quite so defined- also true for comics like Asterix and Footrot flats. You can see the core of the character you know and love, but you still prefer what you normally get. I don't know how they do it, I can never draw a character to look the same again.
